Sangam Chettinad Indian Restaurant Wows with Authentic Flavor

Austin, Texas - Tucked away in a nondescript shopping center across from HEB, Sangam Chettinad may confuse passers-by who don't know what that exactly means.

But for those who know South Indian cuisine, it means authentic spicy cuisine from what was formerly known as Madras now known as Chennai.

The term chettinad can also be used synonymously with spicy! And Sangam doesn't disappoint.

The friendly staff welcome to you as they would at a family dinner, and while you may find locals there, we we definitely say they are locals of the South Indian sort! Which is an excellent sign of authenticity of food from our perspective.

Ordering typical South Indian breakfast dishes such as dosa, we were struck by the variety of flavors which have proven to be authentic across-the-board.

Unlike many Indian restaurants where one flavor fits all, a broad authentic swath of flavors tickles the senses at this friendly joint.

Not only was the food brought out fresh and tasty, but the friendly staff made the experience a very pleasant one overall.

There is plenty of seating room in the semi-casual cafe, which gives you plenty of space to stretch out and enjoy the sumptuous cuisine.

If you're looking for authentic South Indian food, there are many pretenders to the throne in the Austin area, but Chettinad is the real deal.
